Dumela Lesotho Ultra Tribe,

Having had a few days to catch up and absorb all that happened at the 8th running of Lesotho Ultra, the time is right to wrap up our final thoughts with you all. First and foremost, a massive WELL DONE to you all! It strikes us each year what an accomplishment it is for runners to take on those colossal mountains and endure the altitude and the unpredictable weather. Lesotho Ultra is always a challenging event that we are grateful that the trail community keeps coming back to.

But thanks to all of you for making the 2022 Lesotho Ultra a very special and memorable event. Lesotho is a unique place in so many ways and this shines through at the event. The local community continues to embrace the event from both a running and community perspective and we hope to see this flourish even further in years to come.

The weather was extreme this year, so it is always a relief to have all our runners home safely.

2023 – looking ahead!

We will be opening entries for next year on the of 21st November 2022 with some great opening specials. So in the meantime get your group together and watch out for further announcements on email and keep up to date by following our Facebook page. Also, check out our Mountain Marathon Series for more races in case you missed any.

The weather was extreme this year, so it is always a relief to have all our runners home safely. We would like to reiterate our gratitude to the mountain teams that make this race safe and to those volunteers who give their time so freely to trek deep into the mountains. 

We would also like to thank the sanctuary that is Maliba Lodge. Hosting an event like this presents many logistical challenges that together with the mountain teams, the volunteers, and Maliba Lodge, we are able to synergise into this incredible event.
