Where The Mountains Meet The Sky...

In the heart of the Lesotho Highlands lie the Maluti Mountains, some of the best terrain for high altitude mountian running in the world. Serving as the “veins” of this region, an intricate network of trails exists along the valleys and mountain flanks, connecting many of the remote villages.

Used primarily by livestock and shepherds, many of the mountain passes have been established by hand, allowing people and animals to pass through the Maluti Mountain Range on foot. It is this ancient philosophy of man’s primal need to explore and conquer his surrounding terrain that has lead to the development of the Lesotho Ultra.

Hosted at the remote and spectacular Maliba Lodge in the Ts’ehlanyane National Park in the Leribe District of Lesotho – the Mountain Kingdom!

The organisers have over 14years of experience and have hosted hundreds of trail races. Their trail marking is known to be exceptional and they strive to ensure that participants have an incredible trail experience.

There is a 50km ultra trail, trail marathon as well as a trail half marathon on offer at the Lesotho Ultra event.
